GermanoPôle

The interdisciplinary research pole on “Germanophone spaces” is operated jointly by the MISHA and the Interdisciplinary Center for Studies and Research on Germany (CIERA).

We support research on Germanophone spaces and scientific collaborations between scholars from the University of Strasbourg, the University of Haute-Alsace and their German, Austrian and Swiss counterparts. We promote interdisciplinary research in the social sciences and humanities, with an emphasis on expanding the training of young researchers through research. This pole is coordinated by Karim Fertikh, lecturer in political science at the Societies, Actors, Government in Europe Laboratory (SAGE).

In 2020, the GermanoPôle coordinated the annual MISHA conference: "Germany, 30 years later: from unification to unity?". Find the program and all the video interventions on the dedicated page.

Upcoming events

To bring exposure to research on Germanophone spaces and scientific collaborations, we regularly provide updates on Alsatian researchers’ initiatives in a newsletter sent to all CIERA members (membership is free).

If you have a relevant event to announce, send an email to germanopole[at]misha.fr
We will post your event listing on our website and in our newsletter.
