E3S Sport and social sciences

Scientific project

E3S-Sport and social science is a research unit in sport social sciences/sport science, bringing together specialists from a variety of disciplines in the social sciences and humanities. We conduct research in the fields of sociology, history, management science, political science, psychology and sport anthropology.

Our output examines education, integration, health, cultural transfers, work, business, territories, public policies, Europeanization, applied to sport and physical activity.

All our members analyze actors in the social relationships that develop around practices, territories, institutions, policies, productions, and consumption of sport services and goods. These individual or collective entities relate to alterities, temporalities and spatialities that determine social conducts in sport, educational, cultural, political and economic settings. The actors of sport should thus be studied in connection to relationships formed in identified space-times, in an effort to highlight the historical depth of both persons and institutions through an analysis of trajectories in given situations.
